Other brands that don’t test on animals include Almay, Clinique, Hard Candy, Jane Cosmetics and Orly.

Brands That Test On Animals

Some of the large brands of nail varnish, such as Sally Hansen, Max Factor and Maybelline, among others, still test on animals, so if you want to be an ally to the animal kingdom then ensure that you have a browse online before you commit to buying a polish. Remember to double check, as well, since brands such as OPI, Essie and Cover Girl may be listed as being cruelty-free, but in actual fact have recently been bought over by companies that still insist on testing on animals. Also keep an eye out for brands that don’t test on animals themselves, but buy their chemicals from companies that do – Estee Lauder, Avon and Chanel are among these.

For those of you that want stylish nails without the cruelty there are plenty of great brands to pick from, and you don’t have to compromise on choice, shades or price! Fantastic!

Although most of us tend to think about whether skin care products have been tested on animals, I don't think it's ever crossed my mind that animals might have suffered in the testing of the nail polishes that I have used over the years. Where I live, most beauty products are far more expensive than in other countries, but knowing that there are low-cost products available through the likes of Amazon which haven't been tested on animals will certainly make me think twice about where I buy my nail polish in future! Thanks for the great info!!!
